22. Juli 2009

Tokio/Kahl, July 22, 2009 – The Japan based company Toyo Recording, an independent duplication and publisher services, has invested in its prerecorded Blu-ray Disc production. Toyo Recording has announced that it has selected SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES, Germany, as its supplier in its Blu-ray investment program. Akira Sato, President of Toyo Recordings: “Our goal is to build up a highly reliable and technologically advanced prerecorded Blu-ray Disc production. The BLULINE II is the best machine to put this plan into action."

"With this important order from Toyo Recording, Japan, we continue to strengthen our position in the optical disc sector. The first BLULINE II in the Japanese market and other SINGULUS Blu-ray replication lines in Asia, underline the importance of the Asian Blu-ray market and the growing demand for investments of Blu-ray replication equipment in the future", comments Stefan A. Baustert, CEO of SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES.

With over 30 Blu-ray production systems in the market SINGULUS already became world market leader with its BLULINE II system. The SINGULUS Blu-ray Disc production system BLULINE II is designed for the economical production of Blu-ray Discs (BD ROM Single Layer and Dual Layer = BD ROM SL/DL), according to the specifications issued by the BDA.

All production steps from molding, cooling, metallizing, wet-embossing, lacquering and UV curing to quality inspection are incorporated in the BLULINE II. Its functionality, speed and design again set a new benchmark for the industry.

Background/brief profile of SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES
In 2008 SINGULUS unveiled its new BLULINE II system for the production of 50 Gigabyte dual layer Blu-Ray Discs and already supplied a total of 55 systems for Blu-ray production lines.

SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG will be concentrating on the Optical Disc and Solar segments in future. SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES, the world leader in manufacturing mass production equipment for Optical Discs CD/DVD/Blu-ray, has joined with STANGL to focus on the photovoltaic market.

With this acquisition SINGULUS successfully entered the solar equipment market. The new business area Solar will be expanded in the next couple of years.

While STANGL specializes in wet-chemical processes, SINGULUS’ core competence is physical coating and atomization technology. SINGULUS’ extensive know-how is the optimal base for development of highly profitable, fully-automated production lines.
