SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES has industrialized the STREAMLINE II DVD R for 16x recordable DVD formats with a cycle time of less than 4 seconds. Cost effective, yet stable mass production of the new high speed discs is now possible.
Superior machine technology of the STREAMLINE II, designed for DVDR production cycles below 3 seconds, in combination with successful application of new production processes fulfill the requirements of tighter tolerance limits and a more sophisticated disc layout of these high-end 16x media.
According to Dr. Peter Wohlfart, Product Manager for Recordable Media, the extremely stable and reliable STREAMLINE II DVD R and newest process know-how in all relevant fields allow SINGULUS to bring the productivity of 16x DVDR up to a level comparable to actual mass production of 4x and 8x discs.
Continuous process development both in DVDR mastering and moulding contribute to keep a wide process window and repeatable disc quality on highest standard. Extremely tight tolerances are reproducibly achieved by SINGULUS’ own full-electric EMOULD moulding machines. As a result, the focus and tracking properties of 16x DVDRs produced on a STREAMLINE II with EMOULDs are repeatably kept below critical thresholds.
A complete inline system produces 16x DVDRs at the SINGULUS headquarters since December 2004, the transfer of this new technology to customer installations is in progress.
